Keepsake guide
How to display your marathon medal and race bib
After a marathon, the medal often ends up in a drawer and the bib gets thrown away. A few simple ideas make them something you are proud to see every day.
Medal hangers
A wall-mounted medal hanger is the simplest option and holds many medals in one place. It works best once you have a few races behind you.
Shadow boxes
A shadow box is a deep frame that holds the medal, the bib and a photo together. Flatten the bib under a few heavy books for a day before framing, and keep it out of strong sunlight so the print does not fade.
A framed map of the course
For a single big race, a framed map tells the story better than the medal alone: where you started, the long middle kilometres and the finish. Our framed 3D maps print the real terrain of the course with the route raised in colour, and put your name, date, finish time and pace on the card under the glass.
Tips that make any display better
- Write the date and your finish time on the back of the bib before you forget them.
- Keep one photo from the race day, even a selfie at the finish.
- Hang it where you see it every day, not in a spare room.
